Glyder App – Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

By downloading, accessing, or using the Glyder Homes mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Glyder. By using the App, you confirm that you understand and agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement under Kenyan law.

3. Use of Services

  • Glyder Homes is a digital platform that connects users with third-party home owners
  • The Company does not own or operate the homes and is not liable for the conduct of the home owners.
  • You must use the App for lawful purposes only.

4. Registration and Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information.
  • You may not authorize others to use your account.

    Phone numbers are collected and used exclusively for authentication and account verification via one-time password (OTP).
    This is required for all user accounts in production. During App Store review, OTP may be temporarily disabled to allow reviewers to log in without SMS.

5. Payment and Pricing

  • All prices are shown prior to booking confirmation.
  • Payments can be made via M-Pesa or cash, depending on availability.

6. User Responsibilities

  • Comply with all home and safety laws.
  • Do not engage in abusive, illegal, or fraudulent activities.
  • Treat all users with respect and professionalism.

7. Suspension and Termination

  • Glyder may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms or applicable law.
  • You may delete your account at any time via app settings or by contacting support.

8. Intellectual Property

  • All content and trademarks within the App are the property of Glyder.
  • You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute the App content without written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • Glyder Homes provides the App on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.
  • Glyder Homes is not responsible for delays, service interruptions, or third-party misconduct.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
  • Disputes shall be resolved through mediation or arbitration under Kenyan law.

 

PRIVACY POLICY

Your privacy is important to Glyder Homes. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information in accordance with the Data Protection Act of Kenya and Google Play Developer Policies.

1. Information We Collect

  • Personal Information: Name, phone number, ID and email address
  • Transaction Data: Payment status and receipt details via M-Pesa

2. How We Use Information

  • To manage payments and home owners’ commissions
  • To improve service delivery and safety features
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations

3. Sharing of Information

  • We do not sell or lease your information to third parties.
  • We may share data with:

-Government authorities if legally required

-Service providers for SMS, payment, or support functions

4. Data Retention

  • Personal data is retained as long as your account is active or as required by law.
  • Customer and transaction data is retained for up to 6 years for regulatory compliance.

5. Data Security

  • We use secure servers, encryption, and access control to protect your data.
  • Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials.

6. User Rights

  • You may access, update, or delete your data at any time.
  • Requests can be made via the App or by contacting support@glyderafrica.com

7. Permissions

The App may request access to:

 - Storage (to upload documents or store receipts)

 - Camera (for driver ID verification and profile photo)

These permissions are used only to enhance your app experience and functionality.

8. Children’s Privacy

  • Glyder Homes does not knowingly collect data from users under the age of 18.
  • If we become aware of such data, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

  • We may revise this policy periodically.
  • Updates will be communicated via the App, and your continued use indicates acceptance.
